I use Firefox exclusively. For the last week my hotmail account hasn't been allowing attachments to outgoing mail. In the Windows Live forum I've learned that I'm not alone. The problem also occurs with Internet Explorer even though I never use it.

Interestingly, I just opened hotmail with Chrome... and the attaching function worked. I'd hate to stop using Firefox though. Can anyone help me?

Ok, by going through Microsoft's suggestions for enabling/prompting Active X controls I can now attach files to outgoing hotmail messages in Internet Explorer.

Does anyone know what I need to do to accomplish this in Firefox??

thanks.

As mysteriously as the problem appeared, it has been solved. I now see and can use the attachment button, plus all the others on the attachment menu line. I have no idea how or why this occurred, but I am glad of it. I hope others experience similar relief.

exactly the same problem, haven't been solved yet. I am even thinking about moving to chrome.

Greetings.

You could try the following:

1. Clear, cache.

Go to Firefox > options > privacy > remove individual cookies. Remove either hotmail only or all of them.

2. Update plug-ins.

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/

3. Update add-ons.

Open firefox > tools > addons > extension and click the button on left of the search bar then look for updates.

4. Try Firefox safe mode to see if its a plug-in problem.

Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode) (from shortcuts in start menu) Then click to temporarily disable addons and continue.

Cheers.
