Poor signature image quality in PDFs in FF

Sandeep replied

I am happy that FF has added great PDF capabilities. I have a problem with signatures. When I add my signature as an image, the result is a very poor resolution / quality signature image. Adobe Reader inserts the signature as a very high resolution / quality image.

Is there any update / solution to this? FYI I am using the same signature image but FF makes it BW and poor quality while Adobe Reader maintains the color and resolution.

Maybe you could explain how you did this and show an image. Then I could try and replicate what you did.

What system are you using, Window et and which version of that and Fx

I am just using a jpeg file (it is a reasonably large file) from my camera and my signature is in blue. Adobe inserts the signature in very high quality with the blue color. It is so good that it looks like I actually signed the document and then scanned it.

FF makes it black and white and quite blurry. Normal windows 11 and latest FF.

Perhaps this is by design? Thanks for responding.

Thanks

Will try later today

Hi,

I can reproduce the issue, and there's a (one-year-old) bug filed for it: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1952919. It might not have been prioritized (my guess) because signatures are supposed to be small.

The filters applied may be intentional, though, as the signature is actually supposed to be black-and-white.

Thanks for your reply. I guess unless Mozilla resolves this bug / issue, I will have to continue to use Adobe Reader for signatures on PDFs.
