I went to Dell. My computer is out of support. went to Microsoft community. I can't tell you what I did but I have sound.

Show the issue and provide links for us to replicate. What version of Firefox? What do you see here. see screenshot Also try reset to see if it helps.

Yes, the happy birthday song works for me. This is a Windows issue. Try going into device management and update or remove the driver for your sound device. Then reboot windows. https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=device+management+and+update+or+remove+the+driver+for+your+sound+device

jonzn4suse: are you implying that I remove the sound driver as if it is not necessary? I seen somewhere to back up system first. I am just a beginner on this computer stuff. Microsoft couldn't fix the problem. shall I take it to my local computer shop?

NO! I see it's a dell. Go to these 2 sites to verify drivers are current. https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html
