Hello, for a couple weeks now, Thunderbird stops responding, partially. I can click and open the menus, but cannot click on any action in the menu. I cannot switch to calendar. If I click on an email in the inbox, the preview pane will not update to the new message selected. I cannot change folders. Windows 10 does not report Thunderbird as unresponsive. I cannot close the program normally. I must go to task manager to end the process. Should I reinstall? Thanks for any help.

To diagnose problems with Thunderbird, try one of the following:

  • Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". If Thunderbird works like normal, there is an Add-on or Theme interfering with normal operations. You will need to re-enable add-ons one at a time until you locate the offender.
