Hi, I'm trying to add my web.de account to thunderbird on my iMac. I've gone into web.de and made sure that the settings allow access. I go through the usual steps in Thunderbird and it tells me my user name or password is incorrect. Both have defo been entered correctly. Then when I try to go through manual configuration, it comes up with the attached re a certificate. But won't retrieve it.

Any ideas anyone?

when you entered name email address and password, then clicked on 'Continue' to setup account.

Thunderbird attempts to locate configuration settings. It would seem you selected 'IMAP', but have you actually selected POP but used imap settings? Did you click on 'Manual Config' button to check all was correct? Connection Security: Did you select to use 'None' or' SSL/TLS' or 'STARTTLS' ? was the 'username' correctly entered as full email address?

If yes. Have you clicked on 'Confirm Security Exception' button to continue and allow it?
