Thunderbird refuses to save drafts.

Thunderbird will not save drafts -- doesn't matter if incremental save or manual save -- will not do it.

Chosen solution

Have you set up the accounts to keep drafts in Local Folders (that is the default)? Check Account Settings > Copies & Folders > Drafts and Templates.
