I have TB 145.0 on a Mac.

When my trash gets pretty full, I empty the trash then restart TB just to have a fresh start. Been doing this for years. Well, I did it just now and when TB restarted I got a warning that said Thunderbird is an app I downloaded from the internet, do I trust it? First time that has happened.d I clicked on the button that said to go ahead and open it.

When TB opened, it wasn't aware of any of my email accounts. It's almost like I was opening it for the first time – except for 187 random old emails in an inbox.

Is there a way to recover from this? I had a lot of emails stored in inboxes and outboxes that would be disastrous for me to lose. They aren't there right now.

I am trying to add an Proton mail account to Thunderbird using the Proton Mail Bridge (PMB). In the PMB guide it is recommended to uncheck Account Hub in the Setting>General. The problem is that the Account Hub still pops up when trying to add a new mail account - it simply refuses to go away regardless of several restarts of both the computer and the mail client!

My ISP has made a change for "third-party" accesses to its e-mail (which still works fine on its own website e-mail access page). I need to check my Username, Password, SSL, Protocol, Incoming & Outgoing Server Ports. BUT I don't see on my Thunderbird page where to find these: it's my preferred way to do e-mail! Where are they??

I have a Google Workspace account which has my company name as a suffix, ie. @chase-design.net NOT @gmail. com. When I try to add an account automatically using the company suffix, Thunderbird does not recognize it. Is there a set-up guide that shows me step by step how to manually configure that type of setup?

I added a new mail account and then after a week or so decided to remove it. But after removing it I kept getting a popup nag to enter a password for the removed account.

My old provider has stopped supporting my old email address and I have changed to a gmail address. How do I remove the IMAP and smtp settings etc for my old email address? Also remove all trace of that unwanted old address please?

Thunderbird forces me to use the new amount hub. And I get authentication error when trying to setup outlook.com email

I just download the latest version of Thunderbird, and try to add my pop mail account. But after i enter the info of outgoing server settings, the Continue button is gray and can't be clicked. once I try the test, it says that Thunderbird failed to find the settings for your email account. Can't find a server. Also i find that there is no place enter the password of my mail account.

A page appears when I open Thunderbird asking for permission to allow Mozilla Thunderbird to access my google account. It asks for me to click on "allow" but nothing happens and the page keeps appearing.

I need to save all my emails in outlook on my harddrive so that I can change from Imap to POP. Reason being is that optusmail has taken over some of my folders in Outlook and transferred them into optusmail without my permission. All my existing emails in outlook are now deemed to be part of optusmail, so the mailbox is always nearly full. I need to retain my existing email address. I have been advised to make the Imap/POP changeover to restore my control of my emails in Outlook. Will installing Thunderbird allow me to avoid all these other actions to achieve email control ?

Comcast has sent our accounts to yahoo. Email name remains the same. I wish to continue with Thunderbird. I haven't been able to and don't want to lose all my Thunderbird settings and files. They have been transferred to yahoo mail.

First I have went through and followed all listed steps to remove an account. Second I am not an idiot. Third I am trying to remove the pop up for a password of an email account no longer monitored. I have removed it properly and cleared calendar settings. The is no user for this email account in my profiles It is a gmail account. I am unable to decipher the JSON file.

Al I want to do is remove this from happening.

I've had a POP3 account for years, with no problem. On a second computer I had a second TB installation that used to get its emails from a folder on the main computer. This suited our purposes very well. The second user could access all my e-mails, and her sent messages also appeared on my computer.

Alas I updated TB, and have lost this capability. Ideally I'd go back to it, but the only way forward seems to be to set up an IMAP account. I have tried this, following the instructions on the Mozilla web site. It's all very easy, but I end up with a message: "Thunderbird failed to find the settings for your email server".

I have of course checked that the settings are correct, but I can't get past this point. I have tried disabling my Internet Security (Bitdefender) but to no avail.

What should I do next, please? I'd go back to an earlier version of TB if that would enable my older method of working.

Hello, Thunderbird has already imported my Hotmail account. How do I import my Outlook.com account? It was offered to me the first time, to add another one but for some reason, I could not. Thanks

I'm using Thunderbird from a little time anmd I have a problem with "Unified Folders" After installing it, I added my 10 accounts one by one and found out a problem. Simply Thunderbird doesn't want more than 1 "yahoo" account. I can enter even 15 accounts and Thunderbird can manage all the accounts with "Unified Folders" without problems and I see all the accounts. But if I were to add another "yahoo" account, Thunderbird no longer handles it with "Unified Folders". In fact it disappears and I only see it again if I activate "All Folders". I can't understand why. Maybe I need to setup something on yahoo? Can I solve this problem? Thanks PS: I speak italian.

This might sound like a daft question but my excuse is that I didn't set up TB on my PC!

How can I find out from which of my two email providers that I use is feeding my messages to TB as the client? Presumably, incoming and outgoing servers would have to be added at set-up? Is this true for Gmail as well?
