I have current TBird in use but it is configured for use only on present PC (employer restriction). Is it possible to set Tbird to automatically forward all incoming emails to its inbox to a new account on gmail (not yet created, for temporary use on a laptop while I am in other countries) ? Really value all advice you can give me. I'm not a computer wizard!

all my setting are correct per thunderbird and microsoft:

Based on my understanding its seems thunderbird is using SMTP AUTH instead of OAUTH2 as required for newer personal outlook.com accounts. Is my assessment correct? If so, is there a fix?

Info box comes up asking if there's sufficient room in memory as it won't write the emails to my mailbox. emails work fine on another system - BTmail.

I have an email account and a web hosting with a reliable service. I have noticed that from time to time some of my thunderbird emails transfer automatically to my website and appear in the 'posts' pages as 'pending'. The site admin email is different from my email address so in theory this should not be happening any suggestions?

I am trying to set up Thunderbird on a new PC (my old PC died following a power outage). Trying to set up a New Account, I enter the email address I normally use. It asks me for a password. I have tried passwords I have just set up for Mozilla, Thunderbird, Virgin (three of them) and even Google. I am sick of seeing ‘Authentication error’ with not help offered. I never set up a password when I started using Thunderbird many years ago. I keep all my password. There is no option when a password is forgotten or for a new one to be set up. If you can’t or won’t assist, can you recommend a different email app. I have spend so long on this! Cheers, Ken Bailey

I have just moved all my email accounts to Zoho mail, under my private domain.

My Neil@ box delivers mail to Thunderbird on Windows 11 and to the Zoho app on Android. All seems well there so far as I've seen so far.

BUT my Jim@ account delivers to the Zoho app on Android and to Thunderbird on Ubuntu 18.4. A significant number of messages show up on Android but NOT on Thunderbird. T'bird doesn't have them in spam or trash or any other possible place, and our filters haven't changed since we used a non-Zoho mail server. Besides, if T'bird marks a message as spam, wouldn't the mail server do the same? It doesn't.

This is a pretty serious problem for us, as we do all our work on desktops, not cellphones.

What can I do to find the problem and fix it?

A new windows appears from https://login.yahoo.com/ that I have never seen before asking for username and password but this returns a "something went wrong" error. Is there an update, or a setting change, that resolves this problem?

Doesn't matter if I click File -> Get All New Messages or press Shift + F5 nothing happens and I don't get emails. Have to check each email account one by one. Downgrading all the way to version 78 didn't help. What can be wrong?

Also I've tried installing a special add-on to get all new message: https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/get-all-mail-button-for-tb78. But it's not working either. Just nothing happens when I press the button provided by the add-on.

I am using internet server provider www. namespro.ca server settings for my email account set up with Thunderbird mail and the email account will not set up properly. I currently have (1) domain name "realestateX.com with www. namespro.ca and I am attempting to set the email accounts using Thunderbird Mail on a desktop CPU. The email accounts will NOT set up with ThunderBird Mail with this domain name, 'realestatex.com.' On the other hand, the same domain name email account were succcesfully set up on OUTLOOK using the same www. namespro.ca server settings with success, they work properly in and out

Back to the Desktop CPU and my Thunderbird Mail program; I have another email account set in with another domain email account realestatex.net with a completely different internet server provider www. webnames.ca and that email works fine in and out and the set up without an issue

Back to namespro.ca their server settings work fine with MS 365 OUTLOOK email set up on my DELL laptop. However the server setting from namespro.ca will not work on the desktop and laptop, The laptop set up is using a MOZILLA Thunderbird Account Hub and stated their is an "authentication error because of a policy violation relating to the refused connection from the IP" . Would namepro.ca IP connection refusing my thunderbird mail account to syne with namespro.ca? any insight would be helpful, appreciate your time

My work email provider, which hosts about 30 individual email accounts, returns the following when queried for quota:

a GETQUOTAROOT INBOX

QUOTAROOT INBOX Mailbox "cPanel Account" QUOTA Mailbox (STORAGE 1198939 2097152) QUOTA "cPanel Account" (STORAGE 24913212 26214400)

"Mailbox" is the individual account (at about 50% usage) here and "cPanel Account" is the whole server (at about 95%).

Thunderbird receives that data then uses the last one received for it's display (the overall server quota) which is confusing for users who expect to see their individual quota.

Is there any way I can either:

  • tell Thunderbird to use the first QUOTA value ("Mailbox)
  • intercept that response and strip out the "cPanel Account" entry before Thunderbird UI sees it

I can't get the response from the mail provider changed, I've already asked that.

I have this issue with my reminders for peoples' birthdays. I have an event on their birthday that comes from my Google contacts. That event has a reminder 1 week in advance. When the 1-week mark hits, I get an undismissable notification from Thunderbird. I can close the reminder window, but it'll show back up within a minute or two. I've tried removing and re-adding this calendar but it doesn't matter. When I look at the details for the event, I see that the Organizer field is Unknown Organizer <unknownorganizer@calendar.google.com>. My regular email address is listed as an attendee. This has been happening for at least the last several months, perhaps more than a year.

I forwarded an email from a different email client to my Thunderbird email client and when I opened that email the left margin was gone. I tried selecting the text and clicking on the right index and nothing happened.

This type thing has happened before when I forward something that comes to my TB account, but usually highlighting the text I add, and clicking on the right index, will move it over a bit.

I would like to know why this is happening, and if I can prevent it or solve it when it does. It looks so unprofessional and sloppy when there is no left margin.
