How can I get Firefox 8.0 to input my password automatically like in Safari?
I'm on a Mac, OS X 10.6.8. Is there a setting in Firefox 8.0 that will automatically input my password when I log into a site? I can do this with OS X and Safari.

I tried all of that and I cannot get Firefox to remember the website, username or password. I deleted the website address and password as shown in Preferences > Security; it had not stored the username the password manager. Logging on and retyping the username and password was not saved. I restarted Firefox after setting preferences to remember username and password.
This website does not show a "key icon" like in the article, only a dashed box. This is an encrypted financial site; I have had no difficulty with saved usernames or passwords on this site in the past with older versions of Firefox.
If I can't get this to work, I'm going back to Safari since looking up and retyping a very long password is a hassle.
The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.
You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.
