Firefox crashes

after upgrading to 8.0 firefox started crashing. I click on the icon to start it, it checks my plugins, then starts to open then crashes. I totally uninstalled it and started from scratch and it still happens. I've checked everything you have suggested I think. I'm using chrome to download firfox.
