I keep trying to upgrade to 5.0.1 but it still says 3.6. What is the problem?

I had previously upgraded to Firefox 4.1 and I did not instantly like it so I found an older version (3.6). Now that I want to upgrade to 5.0.1 there appears to be a problem. Every time I upgrade and I log on I still get the 3.6 version. How can I remedy that situation?

Download the latest version from here:

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html

Choose your language and platform. Install it and it should work.
