Starting Today I Am Seeing Question Marks Between the Sentences In My Thunderbird Messages

This just started today. I am seeing question marks between the sentences in my messages. I had this issue a number of years ago and do not remember the fix. I am running the latest version on my Windows 7 desktop. It is just the new messages not the older ones in file.

Anyone remember the fix?
