unwanted emails that I can only delete or unsubscribe from. There needs to be a deterent that stops the unwanted emails

Its great that I can simply delete unwanted emails. However, the senders seem to never honor the unsubscribe request. And using unsubscribe just lets the sender know the email address is active. Its a never ending cycle of invading my privacy. Why can't Thunderbird create an option where unwanted emails can be directed "quarantined". A firewall that recognizes and stops the sender from emailing me period.

Chosen solution

Use message filters in Thunderbird.

Some hosts have tools in addition to black lists. I use Sieve, which requires some effort to learn.

Thunderbird uses a filter that the user must train. The" https://blog.thunderbird.net/2024/09/thunderbird-and-spam/ You might also check with your email host, as they sometimes offer whitelists and blacklists. On a personal level, I also use Mailwasher (it;s free for one account) to keep spam out.
