Firefox and Thunderbird lock up and freeze

  • No replies

Watching a CNN video on YouTube Firefox suddenly freezes and does not accept any further actions. Even shutting down it will block the process and I need to use the "Shut down anyway" function. Similarly, Thunderbird will lock up in the middle of writing a response, but here it is just the window and I lose what I typed, but I can go back and push "reply" again and retype the answer. Whether these are down to similar issues I don't know. Obviously, this sounds like a graphics driver, so I made sure all updates are installed and there is no further update available for both, Firefox and Thunderbird as well as the system drivers. System: OS Name Microsoft Windows 11 Pro Version 10.0.26200 Build 26200 System Manufacturer Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. System Model Z890 UD WIFI6E System Type x64-based PC Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 265KF, 3900 Mhz, 20 Core(s), 20 Logical Processor(s) SMBIOS Version 3.8 BIOS Mode UEFI Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 32.0 GB Total Physical Memory 31.7 GB Available Physical Memory 15.2 GB Total Virtual Memory 39.5 GB Available Virtual Memory 18.7 GB Page File Space 7.75 GB

Any pointer is appreciated as this is really annoying. Thanks
