Multiple windows are gone
Hello people,
I have a problem. At the moment I am running a Firefox version 143 on Linux with different windows. At the top left you can then select which windows you want to use. Only now it has disappeared. You get a home page. I have tried several solutions. Anyway, how do you get the rest back? Thanks.

How I did this :
If you’ve reinstalled **Firefox** and now have a folder called **“Old Firefox Data”** on your desktop — that’s actually **a backup** of your old Firefox profile. It contains your bookmarks, passwords, history, extensions, etc.
Here’s how you can **restore** that old data into your new Firefox installation:
---
- 🧭 Step-by-Step: Restore “Old Firefox Data”
1. **Close Firefox completely.**
2. **Find the Old Data folder:**
* On your Desktop, look for a folder named something like `Old Firefox Data`. * Inside, you’ll see a subfolder with a random name, e.g. `abcd1234.default-release`.
3. **Open your current Firefox profile folder:**
* Open Firefox. * Type in the address bar:
``` about:support ``` * Press **Enter**. * Under **Application Basics**, find the line **Profile Folder** and click **Open Folder**.
4. **Replace the new profile with the old one:**
* Close Firefox again. * In the opened folder, go **one level up** (so you see multiple profile folders). * Delete or rename your current profile folder (e.g. rename `xyz.default-release` → `xyz.default-release.backup`). * Copy the old profile folder (from “Old Firefox Data”) into this location.
5. **Launch Firefox.**
* Firefox should now start with your old bookmarks, extensions, passwords, and history restored.
---
- 💡 Optional (if it doesn’t work)
If Firefox opens but doesn’t show your old data:
- Open `about:profiles` in Firefox.
- Click **Create a New Profile** → choose the folder you copied from “Old Firefox Data”.
- Set it as **default**, then restart Firefox.
---
This case can be closed.
