disappeared local folders (bug1990571)

more options

Geek Squad agents were trying to figure out how to add another signature in Thunderbird, and ended up 'disappearing' more than half of my local folders (no idea why they were playing around with folders in the first place). They found them (didn't leave me information about where they were, but some kind of data), but don't know how to move them back into the proper position.

I am adding a screenshot of where the folders are presently. I need to get them back into Thunderbird.

Pashta, please give us an update...

Are you still seeing this problem?

Or did you figure out the cause?

What version?

A geek squad agent finally fixed it. He copied the ones we found outside of Thunderbird into the local folders which included telling the program to not copy folders and files that were already there. Problem solved, but it took hours for the GS agent to figure it out. They may not continue to support TB problems, because TB does not offer a place where they can look to solve such unusual problems.

Do you know the improper location where these messages were found?

Perhaps they mean phone support, which does not exist.

But they are welcome to come here with support questions.

The forum doesn't work for them as a) they need an instant answer, and b) the forum didn't have anything about this particular problem -- and others.

Wayne -- I don't remember where exactly the folder/files were but it was outside TB.
