I have a 600 Mbps internet connection with Infinity. It measures the speed on Chrome, through my router, however, Firefox only measures the internet speed at approximately 400Mbps. Firefox is slow. I have done all thing suggested to make Firefox perform better. What has happened to this browser? Also the Browser when loaded with too many tabs freezes and has to be forced quit. I started using Vivaldi that measures over 600Mbps. Comments. My laptop is a older iMac that still works perfectly running High Sierra. No more Mac's, Apple has lost it way on producing computers, and has defaulted itself to a phone company.

Attached is a screen shot that shows Firefox trying to measure the speed, but the test has frozen, will not complete.

I did a speed test with FF 139.0.4 and vivaldi and speed was the same and both completed. You're on an older iMac and an "older" esr (latest 128.9?) What websites drag your performance down?

I have another user on the iMac so I logged into to that user account and did a complete Firefox restart, refresh, no extensions, no add ons, just the basic Firefox. https://speedtest.xfinity.com/ would not complete, stalled, and would not measure the 600 Mbps download speed. It stalled showing about 425 Mbps. There is something wrong with Firefox. Both Safari, and Vivaldi complete and measure over 600Mbps.

Here is the test launched from this iMac with Safari and Vivaldi!

Someone needs to do some work on Firefox. There is no excuse for not running this test!

Said tests complete here on firefox with no issue on desktop, also completes on old laptop with intel corei3 running ff 139.0.4 although it was a slower pace as would be expected..
