Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible

I have a Mac and downloaded the Firefox application. I opened it in Applications, and it wouldn't open noting: "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible." I followed the directions by going into my terminal with the following: /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox -P

But I am getting the same message about the Firefox profile. Firefox will not open, any other suggestions??

Hi Brian, this message implies that Firefox was previously installed and some remnants were found. It sounds like you already tried the first suggestion in How to run Firefox when your profile is missing or inaccessible. Did you try renaming the profiles.ini file to something like profilesOLD.ini (there are some steps for Finder further down in the article)?
