I'm new to Thunderbird and it works great. One question though, why doesn't the junk mail folder auto update with unread emails like my other folders? It seems I have to manually refresh to update only the junk mail folder.

Chosen solution

The junk/spam and the trash/deleted do not update unless you change the default. Right click the folder, select properties if you want to do that.

The logic is most of the time no one is interested in spam or what has previously been deleted, so the default is those folders are updated only when you select them for viewing.
