Recently I have been getting strange automatic downloads which I have seen before. They look like this: Dh3qd41m.htm, iTOaBR9n.htm There is 14 of them. What is causing them

  • You can type about:downloads then ENTER in Firefox address bar.

This will show a list of downloaded files. Start by one of them you know the source to practice.

  • One left click to highlight the file in blue.
  • One right click Copy Download Link
  • Paste the download link in a text processor or in Firefox address bar without clicking ENTER.
  • Repeat for the myterious files to know the origin.

Also, if you keep your history in Firefox, you can cross-check the history with the date in about:downloads.

Finally, you can look at the file size : if it's 0 bytes, it shouldn't be dangerous.
