Lost forward/backward arrows in v79.0.5 Android

Just been upgraded to v79.0.5 9n my Lenovo tablet running Android v70.1.1. I can't find the forward backwards icons on the navigation bar. Are they supposed to be there? How do I get them back? The browser is really unworkable without them. Thanks for any help or advice.

Sorry, the Android version is 7.1.1.
