I just went to hit the menu button in Firefox Android and now there's a QR scanner icon instead which brings up the camera. I use the menu/settings typically twice a day. I use the QR scanner about once every 8 months.

I want a way to remove the QR scanner option from the URL bar.

Just like every other android phone, it already has a built in QR scanner within settings.

I don't need some Mickey Mouse bolt on to Firefox to duplicate that functionality, which in the process breaks essential functionality I typically use at least once per day.

I can only wonder what kind of person thought that adding this was good idea.

If there is no option in settings to remove this QR scanner from the search/URL bar can this stupid change please be undone until there IS an option to disable it ? This is really annoying and is a deal-breaker afaic.

Many thanks! :)

Example shown, attached. I tried different search engines but this change is part of Firefox itself and it occurs irrespective of which search engine is selected.

The PIP integration for Firefox Mobile appears broken. When I play the video, go fullscreen, and then tap home, it pauses the video and won't resume, but the picture is displayed in the pop-up player. In the player, it only shows the very top left corner of the actual video, with the rest of the space taken up by the address bar. I cleared the website's cache and data, the the app's, to be sure it wasn't an issue with my device, and the problem persists.

This issue is at least a few days old.

Attached are screenshots of the pop-up player's display I described.

I've been using firefox for a few months now to use ublock origin when watching YouTube. Yesterday I was watching a video and went to open another app on my phone when the PIP stopped playing the video. It appears that the PIP tries to open in full screen (it has the popup stating to drag from top or press back to exit when picture in picture starts) and stops playing. If I go back to the video I can play it normally but essentially picture in picture is not working. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I tried disabling all extensions, I cleared my browsing history, and I searched to see if anyone had a similar issue. Any tips would be appreciated. I've attached a picture of what the picture in picture looks like in case that helps.

I have an issue with picture in picture. Every time I'm watching a video in full screen on m.youtube.com and I want it in picture in picture mode, I press the home button, and it pauses the video whilst also going out of Fullscreen mode. This happens on a Google pixel 9 running android 15 with Firefox version 136.0.2 and on a Google pixel 3xl running android 12 with Firefox version 136.0.2. And on a Samsung s21 running android 14 with Firefox version 134.0.2 (I down graded to fix an audio issue) all of these have the same picture in picture problem How do I fix this?

136.0.2 (Build #2016079799)

Latest version (version above) on Android appears to have issues on startup of displaying shortcuts on the homepage. It doesn't initially display them, but if I select the private browsing symbol, then select it again to return to normal browsing, the shortcuts reappear. Then when I start Firefox later, having closed it down for a while, the same issue occurs.

Also, from not showing the homepage icons, clicking the '0' and clicking the '+' to add a new tab displays the icons.

Firefox used to start up and display the shortcuts without having to go through the above process.

I've tried various settings for the homepage but none resolve this.

Anyone having the same issue?

Screenshots attached.
