After a clean install, all of the add-ons and settings from the prior install remain. How do I accomplish a truey "clean installation?

After I have downloaded and reinstalled FF on Win 7 x64 Ultimate, the add-ons, along with changes I made to the config file remained and were included in my supposed "clean install" of FF. How do I ensure that everything, including the prior settings and add-ons are really uninstalled prior to reinstalling FF?
