When installing thunderbird it only gives me the option to add enigma. But when I download it and add it to thunderbird I get an error message: Enigma could not be installed because it is not compatable with thunderbird 17.0.8. No other options are given. What do I use in place of Enigma. I am not computer savy!! When I read about gpg4win it still stated I needed the enigma. H-E-L-P!!

Why are you using a stone age version of Thunderbird? And what are you trying to achieve in the first first place?

Current Thunderbird version is 45, which you can (and should) download here. Version 17 is very old (dated 2013), and if you are referring to the Enigmail add-on for setting up OpenPGP to sign messages, its current version (1.9.5) that you can find here is only compatibel with thunderbird versions from 38.0 to 51.0, hence the error message follows.

Please always make sure to download Mozilla products and add-ons from reliable sources like the ones above. Does that help?
