firefox suddenly crashes every time i use it. i'm usually on facebook and various sites. sometimes it crashes just when i open facebook or several sites at a time, or sometimes just when i'm doing nothing and the browser it's just open... i don't know if it has to be with flash or java, i have all my plugins up to date, thought i have a problem installing the last version of java. i tried to navigate in safe mode, but it crashes all the same. i followed all the steps that you give in this page https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-crashes-troubleshoot-prevent-and-get-help but nothing happens, the problem's still there...

Do the crashes still happen if all plugins are disabled?

You can check for problems caused by recent Flash updates and try these:

  • disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
  • disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
  • disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
