With Firefox versions 8 and now 9, Firefox frequently freezes up. The spinning color wheel comes up.
I use Mac OSX 10.5.8. When I try to force quit Firefox after it freezes up, my computer freezes up. The spinning color wheel applies to everything. I can't do anything. Only choice I have is to manually shut off my computer.

Perform the suggestions mentioned in the following articles:
- Clear Cookies & Cache
- Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems
- Update All your Firefox Plugins -> https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
- When Downloading Plugins Update setup files, Remove Checkmark from Downloading other Optional Softwares with your Plugins (e.g. Toolbars, McAfee, Google Chrome, etc.)
Check and tell if its working.
