I want to get Google.com as a search instrument but keep getting google.pt I do live in Portugal but my native language is Swedish (and English) so how do I change the default search to google.com ?

You can get additional Google search engines here including a 'No nountry redirect' version on the Mycroft Project website.

Local Google sites have a link at the bottom of the page to go to the "Google.com in English" site.
You may need to hover that local Google page with the mouse to make extra content appear.
You can set Google preferences on the Google Search settings page (click the gear icon at the top right).
Such settings are stored in a cookie on your computer that you need to allow.

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Exceptions"
  • Tools > Page Info > Permissions
