Yahoo has taken over as my default page. It overrides what I have specified. How can I get rid of it?

I've used the option dialogue box and set the default webpage to my own but yahoo comes up instead. They must be desperate! This really stinks. How can I get rid of it?

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
