Passwords and user names no longer automatically appear...

Passwords and user names in Firefox no longer automatically appear. They are still saved, because once I start typing in the user name, a drop down box appears to auto-complete it and my password... how do I get it so it's always filled in automatically? (I installed 4.0 beta 7 and uninstalled it recently, that might have messed with things...)

Make sure that you not run Firefox in (permanent) Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history mode
