Over the last few weeks, I have had to enter my primary Firefox password. Why is this? Haven't had to do this for years.

Hi,
The primary password protects your saved passwords in Firefox. If you have autofill enabled, Firefox will prompt you to enter your primary password every time you open the browser, otherwise autofill will not be able to work. (Note that you can still skip this step if you don't care about autofill)
