containers lost

This is not so much as a help request as a suggestion, if someone can forward this along....

I depend on containers since they were introduced. I see now that they can vanish and are not synced nor can they be easily backed up. I have lost customer accounts now because of my dependence on containers. Had I known they could vanish, I would have continued using different profiles.

Please add a warning for those who depend on containers so that they do not end up in my predicament or remove them entirely or at least do not add them by default.

I don't think they are supposed to be enabled on version 115 — could you elaborate a bit more what environment you use? Thanks.

version 153, I can't say when I remember them being added, but they showed up with an update. So that when a new tab was selected, they simply were there. This is true for my computers running win8 thru to Win11 and even on my Mac.

I even checked in case I didn't remember adding them manually, but they do not show up in settings or in any add-ons or plugins...even if I search "containers" in settings...they are not there to add or remove.

153 checks out, this question however appears as posted from Windows 8.1 that can't run 153, so 115 would/should not have container support out of the box.

If you're facing tab loss related to containers on v153+, please do file a bug. There doesn't seem to be anything tracked currently, so there are no known cases from what I can see.

Yes, the issue was with 115 on Win8.1. Perhaps it was added with sync from a newer version I was using. Thank you.

Syncing between different (and not supported in stable release) versions sounds like you might have been using the separate addon, not the built–in functionality — you might want to look in the tracker there if there's anything similar, like:
