The switch to tab feature is highly disruptive to me as a power user.

I desire consistent behavior when searching, rather than it changing based on the context. I am an adult and if I have a second copy of a tab open, please allow me to do that instead of constantly preempting my desired interaction.

If I want to go to Youtube.com/feed/subscriptions and I have a Youtube.com open, typing [Youtu...] will not allow me to open a new copy of this.

I don't want to have to hold an additional key to access what should be the de facto behavior.

This would be controlled by the Address bar option in the Firefox settings. Deselecting Open tabs will remove the tab switching feature from the Firefox address bar.

More information can be found in Address bar autocomplete suggestions in Firefox.

Hope this helps.
