Video always starts muted with autoplay enabled

When I load any page with HTML5 video player the video starts playing, but always is muted. I can't find any option to allow playing sound by default. Changing entries in about:config related to autoplay does not change anything. How can I allow a website to autoplay an unmuted video?

General issues problems without a link to problem pages doesn't help to narrow what is causing the issues here.
