Bookmarks lost
My bookmarks have all disappeared and it says one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. I have followed the troubleshooting steps and deleted the places. I have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox. I have tried to restore from backup, both the automatic history and a saved json file and it says it can't process either backup file. What do I do to get my bookmarks back??

It would be super helpful and enable us to fix your problem if you could please:
- let us know what exactly the steps you followed (e.g. when you write " I have followed the troubleshooting steps and deleted the places.") are in as much detail as possible
- copy and paste the output of the special URL:

What security software do you have?
Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.
