What could cause email for which notice has been given via the small box on my screen when I'm using another program to not be in Thunderbird when I look for it
A small box with sender and subject info pops up in the lower right-hand corner of my screen while I'm working on something, then when I finish what I was doing and look for the email IT IS NOWHERE!, not in spam, trash or archive folders!

lots of possibilities.
Moved to another folder like spam or somewhere else by a filter. Downloaded to another device with pop ad removed from the server is the other most common reason.
