Try this: - Uninstall Thunderbird from the Windows Control Panel - Restart your computer - Download and install the current Thunderbird version from here
If I uninstall thunderbird won't I lose all my saved emails? That's why I have never done this.
No, they are stored separately, along with all your settings, in the profile.
By all means make a backup of your profile as a safeguard against accident or breakdown.
