Can't send messages anymore
Sending of the message failed. "The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) xxxxx failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing Outgoing server (SMTP) connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again."
Last message sent was last night. MS monthly updates ran but no other changes on my end. I went thru the ISP's web portal and could send and receive with no problem.
ISP support had me delete the Tbird account and try to recreate. Norton turned off. I received "Thunderbird failed to find the settings for your email account" (see attached: Account creation.png). Again all passwords and servers work A-OK with webmail. ISP has no other reported problems with email or their servers. He suggested that I contact Tbird support.

Try this, if you are running Tbird: Start program. go to: Tools - Account Settings - Mail Account Setup
enter your name - your email address - your password - check remember password - press continue
THEN I get the screen above.
When I fill it out, properly, I get to press done, otherwise option not available.
PROBLEM IS it will only send an email when outgoing server is set to out.teksavvy.com. When set to smtp.teksavvy.com, I get this when sending a message :

It almost certainly needs to be
and

Despite appearances, Thunderbird doesn't automatically add the prefix. You need to provide the full server address yourself.
Additionally, you may need your full email address as the username.

The shot you are looking at appears AFTER the error message shows. Yes, it's mail.teksavvy.com and smtp.teksavvy.com, but when entering in the Userid and password, TBird attempts to find the server and pre-load some info. It doesn't NOW and this is the resulting display.

The form you provided clearly shows that you did not enter the complete server name. The button before the field is just that. A button to select the server type. It does not eliminate the need to type IMAP and SMTP into the server name.
