when i shift to upper case, firefox closes current window
each time i shift to select upper case using the shift key, firefox closes the window I'm typing in. the only way I get upper case letters is to select caps lock. also, entering any symbol in the upper register - such as an ampersand, parenthesis or such - can only be done by cutting it from Word and pasting it into whatever I'm typing. Makes entering my email address very difficult.

Did you try to reboot the computer?
Can you try another keyboard in case there is a problem?
