can no longer clear search history and forms, greyed out

Sorry, there is no phone number for Firefox [sic]. Support is rendered via this questions forum.
Have you seen this support article? Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox
Make sure that you aren't in the Private Browsing mode when you try to delete any History categories.
When you go to the site you suggested and then go to the table of contents on how to clear history, it's even greyed out on there as well. I've been clearing my forms & history for years, but now all of the sudden it no longer works. I can't be the only one with this problem!
