Simply copying key3.db and signons.sqlite into the profile folder won't work in Firefox 32.0. It stores login information in logins.json. signons.sqlite is normally only read once when upgrading from a previous version, to import your existing login information.

So, you need to also tell Firefox to try importing your login information again:

  1. Type about:config into the address bar and press Enter.
  2. To bypass the warning, press the big button labeled "I'll be careful, I promise!".
  3. In the search box, paste signon.importedFromSqlite
  4. In the search results, right-click signon.importedFromSqlite and choose Reset.
  5. Type about:support into the address bar and press Enter.
  6. Click the Show Folder button. A Windows Explorer window with your profile folder opens.
  7. Click the ≡ Menu Button and click the Power Symbol in the lower right to exit Firefox.
  8. Back in the Windows Explorer window, delete the logins.json file.
  9. Copy the key3.db and signons.sqlite files from your backup into the profile folder.
  10. Restart Firefox. Check if your logins are visible under Options → Security → Saved Passwords.
