Greetings everyone,

Sorry to be creating a thread about this, but it's a serious question I need help with.

I was just about to install Firefox for my old Android phone. However, before installing Firefox it warns me that it requires access to a bunch of my personal data... :(

Why is this the case?

I currently use Google Chrome on this Android phone.

I'd really appreciate any advice.

I am creating userscript, webextension and etc. Current my script downloads several files with renaming. I know that there is some illegal character for windows file name like /?<>\:*|\". My script automatically replace this characters with full-width or remove. In android file system (like in linux) there is only one illegal character: / (used for folder address). But Firefox won't download file with name that contain characters like [],:?;*-/<|>". I use GM.download for userscript and for webextension browser.downloads.download with url and filename options. This also work like this in kiwy (android chrome with addons). Android Firefox can download file that contain this characters. This mean that you can download this file when link clicked, but can't download via userscript or addon.

Second problem is in desktop firefox if you download too many files (like 100 files) it will download 6 file at same time. But in android it download all file same time.

After the new Firefox update when I create a new tab and then make a search or enter a URL it creates two new tabs with the same search or URL.

To reproduce:

1. Open tabswitcher 2. click + action button 3. click adressbar 4. enter URL or search term

Expected: One new tab created

Actual: Two new tabs were created

I understand that the app has been rewritten in its entirety and I would like to thank all volunteers for their hard work. Thank you!

Like in Firefox Focus, trying to access local storage using `/sdcard` is denied or returns an error, however on the Firefox common, accessing /sdccard storage is pretty simple. Although that's pretty helpful in certain cases, however I would like that to manually disable. Are there any ways to do so, such that putting in /sdcard in the address bar returns a N/A result. (:

The last update of Firefox Android completely broke base functionalities such as tabs, and you now have to go into sliding sub-menues just to open up new tabs, or even switch between tabs.

For the longest time, I've been trying to stave off using Chrome, even as more and more pages seem to flat-out not work, but with this latest update, I really can't excuse using Firefox anymore, as even basic usage now becomes a constant back-and-forth, trying to fight against the application itself.

Is there any way to resolve this, or am I forced to migrate?

Or, if this is not possible and Firefox Android 79 is indeed unusable, how do I upgrade to 68 (which I believe was the previous version) without losing my pre-existing tabs (of which I have oh-so-many).

Hello,

Video recording of the issue: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=1JfPP-asNloE3WJZAAWHsn6pt5HcbYvWI 1. Open a page with reference to some particular part of the page in url (i.e. it looks like <URL>#<tag>). A simple example is to open some Doxygen docs and click on some function in an outline. 2. Scroll away from the place you initially arrived to (i.e. away from the tag position). 3. Scroll down (up) if you previously scrolled up- (down-) wards with respect to the tag location. 4. You are back at the tag (without intent).

I guess this happens due to update of the page (this will trigger any other browser to reset current location to the starting one).

Regards, Ivan
