Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.

  • View > Zoom > Reset (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac)

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Nothing has worked so far. Changed default appearance; changed resolution also but the same problem exists. This issue happens on two entirely different computers. I will try it on another and if it happens there, I am going to assume it's the fault of Yahoo! Comics and proceed from there. Thx

Can you post a link to a specific page that has the problem?

Can you open that full image in another tab via the right-click context menu by middle-clicking View Image?

You can rename the content-prefs.sqlite file to content-prefs.sqlite.old (or delete the file) in the Profile Folder to reset the page zoom on all sites.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder

Tried Safe Mode with same results. Extensions are not the problem. Reset ZOOM. No change. Here is the URL of this particular page but it occurs on MOST of the cartoons on the page: http://news.yahoo.com/comics/herman-slideshow/

The page loads correctly and for an instant shows the cartoon as seen in the first attached screen shot, then the screen finishes loading and the bottom "pops" up, covering the bottom of the caption as seen in the second screen shot. As I think I mentioned, this was not an issue when I was using Firefox 7.0, it seems to have started upon upgrading to Firefox 10. I have even uninstalled the whole browser (which wiped out my bookmarks, much to my chagrin) and reinstalled it. No matter what I get the same annoying results. Thx.

It is possible that a script is running on that page that resize the image container to make the image fit after a new image has loaded.

If an extension isn't causing it then it is possible that you have security software that is preventing the proper resizing of the images.
