okay. I have read over 30 pages-6 fixes-37 separate google searches.3 days, countless hours to why I cannot download or UPLOAD a single freeking file.or watch a video to save my life,or use my CPU while Firefox is running because of Plugin-container.exe is cramming my processor to the point my system is near useless.Flash player crashes constantly(especially after it just updated?)will crash on pages with no flash.Even tried resetting browser.download.dir in about config. so WTF is the problem? Preferred since netscape user and I am now about to go ballistic. It is now Monday and I cant do a damn thing with this app.

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

== out of the blue, but PLUGIN-Container has been a process since update

well I solved the first issue of Plugin container exe I think.

I removed FIREFOX 3.6.6

your forum is now in a foreign language but I just got rid of it. SOLVED!

no more cpu hog, no more unable to D/L or U/L.

and dont ask me to update again. I refuse. after countless posts everywhere of this problem, seems it is ignored. I thought how can I get rid of this problem? REMOVE the app. Done- good thing I had an OLD version in back up.

you know I have read most of those fixes, and tbh they dint work for me.

I have corrected Plugin EXE by going back to older version, but still have the anytime a flash video is used it hogs up cpu problem.

And I did disable all add ons and actually had adobe flash updated just a few days prior to all this happening.

before I even posted here.

why not just create a patch to fix it? instead of everyone spending hours of searching and trying to be disappointed.

will look some more maybe there is a post I have not seen with the solution but even resetting all user defaults does not work. tried it also before posting here. still hangin on vids folks.

I had a similar issue. FF went from working great before the update to being laggy, unable to watch videos, and having horrible CPU/MEM issues.

AliceWyman posted a fix in another forum that fixed it 100% for me. Disabling the crash protection (which is what the plugin container is for). I only needed to toggle the one DLL for flash and it fixed everything.

quote:

Can I just disable plugin container? It'll solve all my problems with Firefox! Anonymous, try this:

Disable the new plugin crash protection (OOPP) feature in Firefox 3.6.4 by going to about:config (check the link for details) and then toggle the individual dom.ipc.plugins.enabled. preferences to false.

...e.g., on Windows, enter about:config in the Firefox Location Bar (address bar), and then double-click these preferences to set them to false: dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npctrl.dll (Microsoft Silverlight) dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npqtplugin.dll (Apple QuickTime) dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npswf32.dll (Adobe Flash)

Note: The dom.ipc.plugins.enabled preference should already be set to "false", by default. This preference covers all other plugins not specified by an individual filename.

If you are only having a problem with a specific plugin, such as the Adobe Flash Player plugin, just disable that one preference.
