Mozilla changed my background color, how do I go back to what's correct?

Yet again, idiots make a change and don't let you know. Now, my background is black. I have nothing against a black background, but WTF? Thanks for changing it without my permission. So, how do I get back to normal?

Your background for the built-in Firefox Home / new tab page? Or other built-in pages? Or the toolbars?

As a first step, could you check the theme you're using. Sounds like you do not want the Dark theme. There are two places you can select a theme:

  • Add-ons page
  • Customize panel

Add-ons Page

Open this using either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons and Themes
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Themes.

On the right side, your current theme should be listed at the top. If you click Disable, Firefox should switch back to the "System" theme. If the "System" theme is adapting to a dark system theme and you prefer light, try the "Light" theme.

Can you find a theme that works well for you?

Customize Panel

This article has the steps. There is a Theme selector at the bottom of the panel:
