I liked being able to hover over "Bookmarks" to see a list of websites. I do not like having to look at a separate window, and I do not care about whatever new features this comes with. How do I get Bookmarks to work the way they used to?

I'm guessing you don't like the Library menu? If that's the case, you can change it with the Bookmarks Menu. See Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars for more information.
