I have recently switched from Chrome browser to Firefox browser and have since been happy with it apart from this problem that happens everytime when checking internet banking.

Whenever I signin to internet banking, firefox freezes for a good minute or so where I have to wait. After waiting, a download box appears with some javascript code. When I press cancel, I can proceed with what I was doing.

However this also repeats when I do things on the same webpage whilst logged in and I have had to wait again.

I haven't experienced this before and I have kept java updated.

Any ideas how this can be fixed?

Thanks

I understand that when you are signed in to an internet banking site, or in the process of signing in that it freezes. I am happy to help.

I might first temporarily disable unnecessary addons/plugins for the internet banking site. This way we can test if its a issue with Firefox or the extension. Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode and Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems

Then clear the cache of the site by deleting the permissions stored for it, to make sure nothing has become corrupt.

  1. Open a new url to about:permissions
  2. Search for the banking site
  3. Click on the site then click on "Remove this site"

It will delete all permissions stored, cache and cookies, as if you are visiting the site for the first time.

Please post back with the results.

Hi,

I went down the route of disabling my browser extensions and activating them one by one to single out the one that is causing me the problems.

I eventually found that it was NoScript. The problem occurs even though I enabled all scripts globally for the extension. I had to disable it completely instead and the problem goes away.

Many thanks for your reply.
