I have installed the latest version of Skype and the Skype plugin Click-to-Call. When I exit Firefox 12, the program closes, but the process firefox.exe *32 remains running, and has to be closed manually to re-open Firefox. Skype support says to go back to Firefox 9, but is there a better solution? BTW, no similarproblem with Google Chrome or IE.

Check and tell if its working.

IF it still doesn't work, then Ask Skype this -> "Is Skype Click-to-Call plugin for Firefox Compatible with Firefox 12 ??"

I have already "chatted" with one of their agents, who spent some time researching it, and suggested I uninstall Firefox 12, and install Firefox 9. Not a very good solutiion to the problem, I think. She had no clue as to whether they were working on a fix, but said she would submit it as a request.

Try, if you haven't already, to exit firefox via File > Exit and check it again.

thank you

Unfortunately, that too doesn't work. The firefox.exe *32 process stays on and prevents another start of Firefox. But thanks anyway for the suggestion.

The Skype Click to Call extension is known to be incompatible with the Norton's anti-phishing component.[1] It is recommended to disable Norton's anti-phishing component within Firefox and use Firefox's built-in anti-phishing.

Of course, this doesn't apply if you don't have Norton installed.

If Skype is preventing Firefox from closing properly then you need to disable Skype Click-to-Call.
