After upgrading from the previous ESR series (140.17.0esr) I can no longer access my mailbox, due to the OAuth2 authentication process failing.

As to items on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-and-yahoo: 1, 2, 4, and 5 I have double- and triple-checked. 3 is unclear to me: I'm unaware of anything hidden, yet at the same time I would have expected the site to ask me for a 2nd verification step (e.g. sending a numeric token to my mobile phone) after having entered my password. Whether that step isn't shown or whether the failure (see attached picture) occurs ahead of this I cannot tell.

Needless to say that this occurs at about the worst of all possible times, where I will need my private email much more because of soon losing my business one.

To get Thunderbird to display correctly on the screen, you usually need to restart it once or even several times. Even then, Thunderbird is often not fully displayed, as the word ‘Inbox’ appears in italics beneath the email address, with the ‘Junk’ folder below it. Reinstalling Thunderbird has not resolved the issue.

I have had problems accessing my email server (EveryMail). Problem started about 2 weeks ago. Was no problem before. I am using unified folders. Sometimes a folder property (inbox for instance) shows all email accounts but nothing selectable. Other times an account might have only inbox selectable, other times all account labels are visible. Selecting options for deleted folder only shows inbox for most email accounts. Similar for spam.

In an answer to a previous question, I learned that Spectrum email has issues. I have since learned that Spectrum is slowly phasing their email out. So I'm guessing that change is necessary for me. If I create a free Outlook account on my W11 desktop, is using Thunderbird still an option? This whole email thing is confusing for me. Thanks for any help.

I use HTML as my signature. It has been working just find, but lately when people reply to me, their messages were coming in blue text. So today I changed the: Settings > General > Plain Text Messages > Quoted text formatting from blue colour to black (I have no idea how that was set to blue in the first place). that is all I did. Image attached of the change I made.

In any case, after that, when I tried to send a new email my HTML signature no longer displays the correct font (Pristina) but shows only variable text. The HTML file is not corrupt, it still looks fine in the actual file I saved, but, Thunderbird is changing it somehow. Even when I look back at sent files, Thunderbird is showing me the variable text and not Pristina.

Using the get new mails button or the time interval setting may find some messages but not all. The imap mail server is mailin.telia.com. I have been using Thunderbird for several years without such issues until now several months ago. Are there any new settings I should be avare of?

Since yesterday when I open Thunderbird to check my bigpond emails on my laptop I get a message that says "Enter your password for mail.bigpond.com" - I've never had to enter a password in all the many years I've been using Thunderbird on my lap top. I can get the emails on my phone and on Telstra webmail but I prefer Thunderbird. Also get a message that says "Mozilla Thunderbird login timed out" When I put in the password I use for Telstra webmail it says "Host contacted sending login information" but then I get another message Login to mail.bigpond.com with user name ealinta@bigpond.net au failed Retry...

Not sure if this is connected to not getting emails on my phone for a week and going in to Telstra yesterday where they fixed that problem...

Why do different emails come in at different magnifications? I get emails from a real estate agent that I have to do a control & + to zoom in on the email so I can read it normally. Why is there not a setting to have all emails at one "zoom" setting? It would be really helpful!! Especially for us older users. Also, when I add a folder to my email, why can't I add it to the list of folders already there by default? Right now I have to add the folder to the inbox and then drag it down to the other folders. When I do this they don't go alphabetically, they go to the bottom of the list. They should drop into alphabetical order. Thanks for your help.

For both servers imap.exmail.qq.com / imap.263.net, when I click on the email subject in the email list during downloading processes (many emails headers are being downloaded but email body downloading is not completed), the email is broken without any content (only header).

I go to the web email server and move the email to another folder and then move it back to inbox. Then I delete the same email in Thunderbird and donwload again the email again, it's completely downloaded with the email body.

I don't have any issue with eM client or Outlook for such issues. Any possible setting to solve this issue?

I have been using Thunderbird for years. My current version is 158.0 (32-bit). In recent months Thunderbird has become increasingly weird and annoying. These problems have occurred individually, not all at once, and each persists--that is, they are all and always present.

1. T'bird's counts of messages in folders is always much higher than the actual counts. 2. I tag messages with color, but T'bird deletes the color tags within a day. 3. Clicking a message doesn't change the message from Unread to Read--that is, the title stays bold. I can change the read/unread indication by clicking the button, but the change doesn't happen automatically. 4. If I drag a message to my wife's T'bird inbox, the act removes the message from my T'bird inbox, but it doesn't always remove it from the inbox at the Server. 5. Deleting a message from my T'bird inbox often also deletes the message just above it. This is the oldest problem, and when it first occurred I found that if I closed and immediately reopened T'bird the message would reappear in my T'bird inbox. Now it does not, although the message might still be in my inbox at the Server. 6. While I am reading a message, the list of messages often pops up to the top (oldest) message. The message I was reading doesn't disappear or otherwise change, but I have to scroll back down to it and click it again in order to delete it or move it to another folder.

These problems are more than annoying. Can anybody help?

For years I had an pop account in my Thunderbird, next to my Imap account. Both live happily next to each other. Today I moved all the mails from my pop account (which was no long active, nor was it connected to a server) to my local folders. I found out that all of my folder were suddenly twice the size. Compressing didn't do a thing. Why is this?

My emails will not download in Thunderbird. It shows a server connection but the server is fine. I can even hear the tone like emails are downloading but I cannot find them.

Issue is with spectrum server mail.twc.com. Error message sending and rec e mail. "Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.twc.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections." "Server timed out" Server settings are correct. need help!!

I use Proton email, but considering the latest revelations from the leadership at Proton and their treatment of employees I am looking for an alternative. Does the Thunderbird team rely on AI for coding? If they do rely on AI is it checked by a person before being used? It seems Proton is satisfied with letting AI code with minimal or no checking by a human.

I'm very fond of Thunderbird (using it only for agenda, but a lot) and I think that a new practical function would be to be able to paste plain text (= without formatting) with the right click of the mouse into an agenda cell.

As I add a lot of events and text into the agenda cells directly from websites or documents, I'm always getting the original formatting that I don't need and can look quite bizarre.

Plain text could harmonize everything. I know I could select the text and reformat it in Thunderbird but it's adding unnecessary steps.
