Mozilla accounts let you access Mozilla services on any device with the Firefox browser by simply signing in. You can create an account using an email address and password, or use other supported sign-in methods, such as passkeys, Google, or Apple accounts.

How do I sign up for a Mozilla account?
You can access the sign-up page on each Mozilla service, or visit the Mozilla accounts signup page and follow the steps below:
- Enter your email address and click .
- Enter a password and your age, then click .
- We ask for your age to meet the Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule of the USA legislation.
- When the Mozilla accounts email arrives, enter the 6-digit confirmation code.
- Once your account has been confirmed, sign in to your favorite Mozilla Service using your newly created account. After you sign up, you can also sign in and add an image to your profile.

Sign in with a one-time email code
Mozilla account supports a passwordless sign-in option for selected services. Instead of entering a password, you can use a one-time code sent to your email address.
When you enter your email on a supported service, Mozilla automatically determines the correct sign-in method. If your account is eligible for the passwordless flow, you’ll receive a one-time code by email. Enter that code on the verification screen to complete sign-in. If the code expires, you can request a new one.
You can use passwordless login when creating a new account for a supported service, or when your existing account lacks a password and is not linked to Google or Apple.
Sign in with a passkey
Mozilla accounts support passkeys, which allow you to sign in using your device's authentication methods, such as a fingerprint, face recognition, PIN or hardware security key.
Passkeys provide a secure, passwordless sign-in experience and are designed to be resistant to phishing attacks.
To use a passkey:
- Go to the Mozilla account sign-in page.
- Click .
- Follow the prompts from your browser or device to authenticate.
If a passkey is available on your device, you can sign in without entering your password.

What makes Mozilla accounts different?
At Mozilla, we put your privacy first. Any data you store on our servers is encrypted with your password, making it impossible for anyone without your password to read your data—even Mozilla. The benefit of this is that no one can mine your data to create a profile of you. However, it does require that you make a password that is both strong and memorable. If you forget your password and reset it, your storage is wiped clean and replaced with what is currently saved in Firefox on your devices.
