I've been relying on backup/recovery from backup because firefox now deletes my profile/session every time it does a meaningful update (several times a month).

Now, one stupid/broken thing is that I have to re-enable backup every time I restore my profile/session (this setting, backup ON, should be included in the profile/session!).

The second broken thing is that now I can't re-enable backup today, after yesterday's update.

I can fakely turn backup ON, but when I click "backup now", I always get "Hmm, there was a problem backing up. Learn more"

Learn more has no useful information. Waiting a few minutes, like it suggests, does nothing. Now, I'm going to get my profile deleted the next time firefox updates, and I won't even be able to restore from backup.

Finally, whoever's in charge of this feature needs to learn English. Log in is a verb, login is a noun and an adjective. Similarly, back up is a verb, backup is a noun and and adjective. You can't "backup" your profile. You BACK UP your profile. A backup is a noun. You can't do nouns. You do verbs. I back up my profile. I back up (verb) the backup (noun) in a backup (adjective) file.

You don't have to update. You can copy your Profile so as not to loose any data

Incorrect. To log in is the action. To login is not-English, complete nonsense.

A walkout is a noun. To walk out is the verb. You can't walkout, because walkout is a noun/adjective, and NEVER a verb (in English).

This is universal. It's not a US/UK thing. That's irrelevant anyway, because firefox is written in US English, and there can be a translation to UK English. In both dialects, the same thing I'm saying about US English is true: login isn't a verb. You can't login to a site. You log into a site. When you do that, a login (noun) has occurred. Your login (adjective) data is also valid English.

Yes, I don't have to run every update, but eventually I do. Please fix this, so that I can update firefox regularly, without losing my entire profile and session every time.

Incorrect. My profile's still there. It's just frozen in time, with the session from somewhere around 6 months ago. So I still have the same pain in logging into (notice I can't correctly say "loginning", because "login" isn't a verb) all my accounts and services again each time I update firefox.

If I copy it, I just have 2 copies of the same out-of-date (months old) profile/session. And firefox doesn't recognize it, so boots to blank slate anyway.

Profile is a common noun, so is never capitalized except at the beginning of a sentence.

If you think walkout, login, etc are verbs, then tell me their gerunds. Walkouting? Loginning? If there are no corresponding gerunds, that's proof that these aren't verbs. All English verbs have a corresponding gerund.

For example, "to log in" has "logging in". The man is logging in.

"To walk out" has "walking out". The group is walking out.

"To back up" has "backing up". Pontaf is backing up his firefox data.

But, there are no gerunds for walkout (fake verb), backup (fake verb), nor login (fake verb).

No one can say (in English) The man is loginning. or The group is walkouting. or Pontaf is backuping his firefox data.

because login and walkout and backup aren't verbs.
